Whilst I was in Kuala Lumpur and extremely close to Singapore I decided there was no real excuse to miss the Singapore GP. I ended up buying my air ticket fairly last minute and had to scrounge around for tickets for the race weekend. On arriving in Singapore I had a Friday session but managed to sort myself out for the following two days soon after.
I even got myself into the Johnie Walker Jet Black after party for both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, I didn't catch any of the drivers.
I arrived early on Saturday and spent the early part of the day taking in the sights and locating the best positions to take in the qualifying and race. Until you hear an F1 car go past you can't really appreciate the noise they general - it is fantastically loud! Thats even with the ear plugs in.
Taking photos of a F1 car at night with my basic walk about lens is pretty much impossible, even when I chose to stand at the exit of a the slowest corner - they travel that fast! I ended up spending most my time panning, which again is nigh on impossible. This is one of my better attempts.
I need a new long and fast lens before I head back to capture Formula 1.
